the worst thing about uni is rushing for project date lines.
it's not like you have so many time! need to rush other readings oso. and readings are so heavy, but if you do not read them, you cant work on the project. *wail..

Anw, met up with pam, HM, MY, YL and SH for sec sch gathering. went to minds cafe, at boat quay.. but before that, went to a very attitude bak kut teh to have early dinner. dun realli like the stuff, cos she's from central asia u see.. and the boss oso kinda dao.. anw.. cost us like 5 bucks per person n i think it wasn't cheap.

Went to minds, played a lot of games. i think we very noisy. keep laughing and laughing and changing games. let me see.. did we play around 10 games?? lol. conclusion: when HM and me team up, we will win. wahaha.. played for 3 hrs under the sixers package, cost $13 for each of us. =)

Decided to walk around the area to take photos.. so we slowly walked our way to clarke quay.. n took photos.. there got some mid autumn festival celebration. a lot of ppl.. a lot of foreigners too. talking and laughing along the way, saw pam's fren zy somewhere along the bridge. they talking about their project too.. ~~~

End up we decided to have supper, at lau pa sat.. so we walked there.. think we spent more than half hr walking? haha.. nice.. walking and talking again.. walked pass several very ulu district areas.. finally reached.. parts of LPS under renovation.. but we order quite a few stuff to eat.. satay.. stingray..hor ziam..n my first try on 'anything'.. got some pepsi/rootbeer like drink.. talk until almost 1.30 and we took cab home.. that taxi uncle.. almost sent us to heaven twice.. can he stop cutting lanes and speeding at 110km/h? i hate this kind of taxi driver..

reached home.. around 2 plus.. did loan words project until 3am.. later got discussion.. hmm....

Un-Blue Saturday

Very long day in school yesterday.

Reached school around 8.35am for my TC lesson. Duno why i reach so early, but get to know one girl from my class, WR, and we chatted abit there. ha.. nice to meet her.. she oso majorin in history, and when she heard i majorin in CL, she gave me a face that i will give when i hear ppl majoring history: cannot-believe-you-can-cope-with-that-look.

Finished, rushed to my next lecture, geo lect. ok another fun lesson. i love prof chang's lectures. haha i will never fall asleep. after lecture, rushed our way to the deck to have lunch. was so hungry! ordered western food with el, but the servings, according to el, has shrinked. hmm.. ate half way, the rain pour in like mad, why the deck so exposed?

Since the deck is so fully packed when we're finished, went to the as7 lab to start on our proj discussion instead. n received an email that we can oso s/u our grades after release results liao! den the used s/u option can see what grade we actually get and retract if we wan to. wee~~ that's good~! discussed geo project until el and me vomit blood. think we discussed until 5pm.

Went back to the deck, it's more empty now, so we went up and found a nice comfy seat. sat there to do our own assignment. el doin her chem tut while i did my translation proj thingy. soon, pam came and we went down to have jap food for dinner. haa.. nice. den went back to do our own revision stuff after 8pm. den head home, lol, pam's sandle's strap broke! luckily she got bring her plasters to paste/secure her leg to the shoe. LOL. sorry, i very bad, i laughed very loud. i will have 报应。

Reached home, rushed my basic translation proj again.. den chatted with HuM on msn. she was a cl major too whom i met in lv3 chi class. doin proj with her too, plus bh. n she tot bh and me are a couple. O.O anw, got to 澄清with her.. lol. hmm.. i almost forgot this theory, when one guy and one girl is seen together, they are seen as couple. 我在学校，可以一起上课的女性朋友好像很少。。。。

MIO down

很累很累。。很忙很忙。。。。

Ty finally go to TW le.. she left on wed, din get the chance to send her off, coz got TB lesson.. T.T anw, real glad to receive an sms from her that all is well so far, she settled down there, but currently no connection available, so she can only be entertained with her offline laptop.. dun seemed easy.. but i can only say: 加油加油！！！

Mio is down yesterday. so i cant come online, cant go msn, cant do proj research, cant use housephone.... ~!@#$%^& anw.. called the technician.. they only came down today morning.. make me almost late for my 12pm class.. ah.. anw, they said the modem is spoilt.. so they installed a new one.. ok~ so we're within 7 days.. can get this service for free.. that malay uncle who came to install.. very naggy.. told him the modem like gt problem, then he nagged a lot.. den after explaining, said, "you understand? you say right or not???" zz.. i almost late for class liao he stil nag so much.

Got earthquake yesterday. i din really noe it's earthquake when i first feel it. thought i got giddy, coz i jus woke up, and i was swaying left to right. LOL. den i was thinking, maybe it's earthquake in indonesia again.. but din care much.. came to living room's desk to continue daydream to wake up myself. LOL. den receive an sms from al that he said there's earthquake, n should check out the news tonight. den he said he was having dinner at a restaurant in the city, suddenly earthquake, everyone rushed out so he din pay for the food oso. LOL. can like that one oo.. today discussed the matter with hj n kel, when we met for lunch. hj said she din notice it. but kel said he felt it, it's swaying front to back. LOL. we burst out laughin coz we're facing the different direction, so we felt a different swaying.

The translation tut is boring. Got another translation assignment coming up. walao eh~! like that where got time la~! tml going to stay back in sch to do geo proj, sat got sec sch mates gathering, den sunday gotta discuss chi lexi proj, and upload our individual translation work. den tue or wed gotta conference to discuss the translation thing again. Wa.. so busy~!!!

Busy week

I now den noticed that it's going to be such a hectic week for me! (den why do i stil have the time here?)

Jap 3 is getting harder and harder.
我也要开始听不懂了！other than that, got many homework and assignments from jap oso. I really wonder how life will be without taking jap language in school. But.. that so-free timetable wun make me any happier coz i won't be seeing most of my good friends.

Went to sim to meet pam for lunch just now. I think her friends already know who I am la.. ha.. see them at least 5 times liao.. 我动不动就跑去SIM。。they having test at 2pm.. so got pam, my, zy, cl, one girl i jus met today called 'my tutor', and one guy whom i wasn't introduced. ha. but nice.. to see a huge group of friends studying together. will this ever happen in nus for me?

There having bazaar sales.. and didn't find anything I like. But, stil ok la. Nice to see so many people walking around and getting excited about school life. Makes me wonder do i have school life?? NUS so 寂寞。。

Just now during tuition, i suddenly got so deeply insighted when i was teaching my tutee. When she was doing a question, and i think she was solving something like this: 3(3x+6)=9x+6... n my first reaction was to blurt out, "Why?" very soon, i realised that it's not nice for a teacher to tell off her student, "why?", when the student did something wrong. What am i expecting anyway? "Because I don't know." , or.. "Because I stupid.".....

I was trying to soothe things out and mentally slapped myself for saying something so rude. and doing a quick mental scan of all the phrases that can never, or shall not be said to a student. Phrases like.. "no, you're wrong.", "Why like that?", "Do you understand me ***OR NOT***?".. den i was thinking how can i tell her nicely.. maybe i can say, "no, it wasn't really right like this.", or.. "It's not right to do it like this", or.. "let me explain again, so you can understand more clearly", "it's ok u dun know, but the answer is....".... And spice up everything with a trillion encouraging phrases like, "great!", "very good", in a chirpy tone and a light up of my face, and just to see that the tutee wasn't really appreciating my goo-ga-ing efforts, but deep down inside i believe they love it. Wa.. the art of teaching.. wasn't easy.

好多事情要做的礼拜天

连续两晚两点半才睡觉。感觉是不错，但是第二天醒来会有点痛苦。

昨天补完习、回到家，就忙着在学校的Forum上留言。不留不行，因为有particpation points。看到许多为了留言而留言的人，说了一堆废话，把Forum搞得很乱。在Forum上，谈论到一点关于‘便当’一词的由来。很多人以为便当是由日语的'弁当'（读bentou)，所借过来的，其实，在许多日本网站里，却证实了这个词是源至于中国！所以，有人也说便当是‘回归词’，因为，它去了日本，被改换了一下下，再回来华人的世界里被使用。大开眼界吧~

做了一点geo的research，也了解到许多关于牛仔裤，Jeans，的历史。对，我们在geo project 里准备做关于jeans。看上去很不适当，但是，就是要以‘地理环境影响’的角度来观看人人都穿的牛仔裤的演变。详情还没彻底讨论过。就先research咯。

还有词汇学的project要起步去做。万事起头难。不是过程痛苦，而是总要为要做什么而烦。听al说他们的universe module的project也还在为做什么而烦。我宁愿老师的限制不要那么放宽，跟我们讲要做什么就好啦。我是懒惰想的人。

今天，整天都在赶功课。咳。无奈。。

Finished tuition

I finally, finally finish my tuition! It's been.. let me see.. nearly 5 months? I missed my freedom on Saturday. I realised how important a free day is, for a 5-week person like me. It's over. I got my last pay from the sisters' mother. Supposed to be $125, but she gave me $130, think because she was so 不好意思 that the tuition dragged for 40 minutes more. Her daughters suddenly got so many questions from the school they wanna ask. Zz. OK, i need to be passionate, to become a teacher. Training my patience..

Had a nice little farewell party for Ty yesterday nite. Met px at cwp first, coz ty was late, to buy ch's present. CH's birthday falls on saturday. so as well celebrate together. We bought a converse shirt for ch, and a lovely lil card, den we went to my house. Mom cooking steamboat, and so we sat around to talk a bit and wrote the card. Ty suggest we play a prank on ch, by sayin that many ppl's birthday these days, but act like we didn't realise it was his. Aha.. Anw, i oso din realise it's his bday until i saw it on friendster. We started eating first, pam got test until 8 plus, so she coming later with ch, as ch will have his own dinner, since he's vegetarian.

We chat and ate.. ok practise a bit of my recent jap here.. おしゃべりしながら、食事しました。T,T den almost 10pm, pam and ch den arrive. poor pam, i think she was very very hungry. we waited for pam to finish her food, then we went to my room to play that legendary sg monopoly again. LOL. We not very concentrating, coz many of us got many things to do when playing the game. LOL. Ppl like me, XD. Then when reached midnight, we suggest cutting the cake that we shared to buy for TY. Den we gave ch and ty their presents, and took a lot of silly photos. Ahah.. it was fun. Loved taking photos with friends, or shall i say, love taking silly photos. I can laugh non-stop.

Then we ate the cake, and went back to the game, to play monopoly for awhile more, UNO stacko, and Bingo.. LOL. Played until sian.. then went to play "Deal or no deal". If you want to play the game, it's on the bottom right of this page. Try it! Haha.. By the time we got so quietened down because of tiredness, it's already 2am. Den, pam, px and ch made their way home. Ty stayed over for the night, and we chatted abit and went on to sleep.

When we woke up, it's already 11am. So late! We ate another round of the steamboat, and went on to chat and surfed the net together.. hmm.. time really flies again. Before i noticed it, it's time i have to go for tuition, so TY oso going to make her way home. Bid goodbye to her, it's the last time i saw ty, until don't know when le. Most probably at least another half of the year. So sad!!

It somehow makes me recall the time when i said gdbye to him before he left for brunei. But that's old grannies history, i don't care about that now~

Friday again~

Friday. Later at nite going to have a little farewell party for ty, as she is going to tw this coming wed. Time really flies. I stil remember on tuesday, pam and ty came to nus for dinner. Now it's friday! and another week..

Going on to week 5. My mid-term break is coming. it's so fast!! haven't i just started school??

Woke up early in the morning for the jap tc class. met al at the interchange, tok our way to school. hmm..went for the geo lecture after that, hy is late, so only left me n el. the lecture's concept is getting slightly harder. Left early from lecture to go the deck for lunch. el hooked to the deck's jap food. haha.. very soon, sdr came to join us too. talked a bit.. el and sdr have project discussion, so they went back to sc, but i went to as7 lab to slowly, leisurely print my stuff.. sometimes, being alone is not that bad too.

Spent $9 bucks plus on my notes. walao. so ex. the geo readings all like at least 30 pages per reading.. want to squeeze but later the wordings too small.. hmm.. anyway, print until near 2pm, took bus to clementi.. and guess who i saw? pam!! LOL. she poked me so quick and hard at my back, i thought who. LOL. Den so surprised to see her.. with zy and my oso. LOL. they went back to sch to study, coz they havin test later on in the evening. wish them all the best!

MIO~ed

Ok, the happiest thing about today, is .. I am finally MIO-ed!!

Woot~! The connection rocks big time! 10Mbps Unlimited! i can save myself from the trouble of tackling wireless from unknown, unreliable wireless providers.. and i am so connected now. u wun see me dc again! woot~~! i dun have to run around the house looking for the best feng shui for the wireless. i can just savvy myself by sitting on where i wanna see and get hooked up. =D

Anyway, several things regarding the week.

On monday, after jap lecture, stayed in sch for lunch with HJ and Al. we went to the deck.. and hj ordered jap food, and al n me tried the noodle from the new noodle store.. cost only $1.80 for a very big serving, but my conclusion is, it smells like cockroach. no choice, but force the food down. den hj got lesson at 1pm so al and me went to the lab. he need to do his lab report. and we're discussing abt some upcoming movies and watched a few clips from youtube den i gotta go for tuition le. ok, my tutee said she left the book in her grandma's house, which i assumed she did it on purpose, coz she din complete my homework. i dun understand, if u dun wan to do tuition homework, den dun have tuition in the first place la! why waste money. but din care, it's my pay day.

Ironically, my pay day, half gone to my piano fees. It's fees day oso. LOL. plus, i advanced to book two of that legendary older beginner's piano book. and it cost me $84 in total. ouch. but for the love of it, it's stil worth it. learnt two new songs.. getting harder..

Tuesday, had that cute sensei's lesson for jap tut.. u noe who he is.. aha.. after the lesson, ty coming to nus for lunch! haha.. so we meet her at the busstop.. al went for his lesson at sc, so kel joined us to wait for pam to come.. at first wanted to give ty surprise, coz we intend to buy her a laptop case, but she buy alr.. LOL. so we have to forget about the script we intended to act out for the surprise.. ah.. haha.. so we had the nice indonesian chicken set meal.. and it's nice.. ty and pam going to psa after the lunch, so i went to my translation lecture.. and kel went to lab to wait for his next lesson.. and i rmbr i forgot to bring my work to lecture!! i spent one day doing it but i forgot it!!! anw, borrowed from bh, and from my stil quite fresh memory, i did my translation again on the spot, coz bh din complete it all. woot.. teacher gave us his ideal answer sheet and bh said mine resembled teachers'! woot~!

Went to the chi lexi lecture after that, and it's another tiring session.. only looking forward to meeting pam n ty after the lect.. den very soon, the lesson ended! we went to the deck and ate at lerk thai's. woo i love the ambiance there.. very cosy and nice.. not much ppl oso.. coz it's alr 6 something. we ordered quite a lot and it's nice.. aha.. den we sat down and tok.. a lot to laugh about.. and only then did i notice, i haven laugh until like that in NUS before.. it's like a dream to hav pam n ty in NUS with me.. i wonder how will it be like if we're in the same sch.. but we aren't and it's sad.. the whole campus seemed more livelier and cozy with them.. i miss those times.. it's been so lonely in sch alone.. i haven found the childish me for a long time.. we ordered coffee from olio cafe's.. chat until 8 something.. den went to as7's printing lab.. ha.. one userid can serve 3 pcs the same time.. lol.. so i print my notes and ty and pam surf online watching movies and handsome guys.. lol.. realli not like wat i can see in the usual sch.. stayed until 9 something.. the ppl gotta close the lab.. so we took bus and train home..

Wed.. i am late for my tutorial.. bh reserved a seat for me.. and i came in so at the last min that the tutor asked me to intro myself.. ah.. kinda ps.. coz she asked me wat's my name.. i told her.. den she asked me to describe my name.. wat can i describe???? 廖。。。婉。。。妍.. for god's sake, create something fancy out of this for me.. i think she did this to me becoz i'm late.. anw, the girl beside me helped me a bit, telling me wat i should say for the tutor.. she looked like Bethia.. n i think she's msian from her tone.. jus looking forward for the lesson to end..

Move on to the jap lesson.. busy with the discussion on the phone with pam.. on wat to get for ty.. LOL.. pam very anxious.. coz i having lessons n she cant get to contact me.. so she duno whether to buy or not.. anw.. lesson.. not bad.. ended very soon, den went to busstop alone, coz kel wanna take bus 10 from krt, and al got project.. met bh at the busstop and tok until i reached raffles place.. goin to orchard to meet pam., for the present.. was so hungry, we went to taka's kfc to eat.. den bought some stuff for ty.. and went home.. so tired.. but still.. read our notes along the way home..

Thursday, went for the chi lit lecture.. ok i reached there jus in time and today we got to buy our textbook for $14.. the book we ordered is here.. seemed not bad.. n i stil love the idea, that wat i had read in the readings are covered in the lecture and it's interesting.. lesson finished, went to lab to print tml geo's lecture notes.. den saw bh.. den gotta go.. mio ppl coming.. on the way home, hj msg me n she's sick! oo i hope she's ok.. din get to see her most of the time this sem.. that's sad.. kel nt accompanyin her, coz he said he got lesson..

Reached home.. lazed around.. i tried reading two long geo readings today.. progress stil not bad.. den the mio person came.. n he quickly finish his stuff and i was so delighted i can get to use wireless now at such a fast speed!!! woot~! went msn.. saw al.. shared wif him my joy.. ha.. den we played sudoku n reversi.. i felt bad for winning him in both games.. anw, it happened that the game i seemed to be losing, but i suddenly get to beat him in the game.. den he said i very bad.. did it on purpose.. n watever.. n he seemed delighted he can piss me off.. sayin wat, "jus dun take my words seriously den u will have a smoother day".. den i replied, "i had nv taken u seriously at all".. n i successfully pissed him back! lol.. ok we're childish..

Also, pam n me are signing up for the work and travel trip to USA.. yep.. information from speedwing.org.. al introduced to me.. students from universities and uni institutes can only apply.. and ya, it's 2008's summer trip to overseas where u work and get paid and for ur own accommodation and so on.. and for a period of two months.. seemed so interesting! but dun think it'd be easy coz got interviews.. and u nv know whether next year will u have clash in exam dates, or financial problems, or parents objections and so on.. ahh.. jus apply first la.. applied for resort jobs at Grand Canyon's lodgings and Yellowstone's..~~~ shall see~~

Tutorials finally started

Been a busy week, since most of the tutorials have started.

Everyone's complaining about jap 3, and saying they're not intending to take jap4. Personally, i think it's still fun, but the workload is kinda terrible. 4 days of jap and for each lesson, be it lecture, you oso gotta do some work or be prepared for it. For the past vacation, i was thinking how days can breeze off in front of me. now, the days zoom pass when i was looking at pieces of paper in front of me and when i haven even realise, it's another week.

Shall share a little bit about sch this week.

On monday, was the jap lecture. taught by 堀江先生。she is good, as everyone taught by her will comment. but her lectures are getting heavier. instead of one chapter per week, she's starting to have 1.5 chapters per week from next week. and for each lecture, we'll have lecture quiz. so though it has webcast, we must still be there. but it's good la, can get to see all frens. HJ, Al, Kel, Jas, PH, BH.

After the lecture, i am free, but having tuition at 3.30, i can only stay for lunch and rush back home to rest a bit then have piano at 7.30. at least, monday is something i do look forward to.

On tuesday, had our first jap TA tut. it was 岡田先生. ha i think he's cute. i duno how to describe how cute he is, but when you get him to teach u, u will think he's cute. haha, and i think girls enjoy his lessons but not guys. XD In this TA, recognise a few frens, got Al, Kel, Rb, JY, Abln.... den we have quiz on TA. and project group forming. our project group will be spending a particular monday on month of october and bring local jap pri6 students to some war memorial museum and have interviews and lunch with them. so our group formed, is Al, Kel, JY, Adl(JY's fren) and me. JY told me he's doin shared major between jap studies and cl, so we can take modules together next time. wo cool..

Too bad, babe HJ had class for this TA slot, so she had the one after, and she got 浜崎先生 for class, but in her class and project group, she got Jas, PH, and Dn(the very loud and funny HK boy)..

For that break after the TA, went to sim with kel to look for pam and gang to have lunch together. gotta rush back to sch before 2pm, so we hurried here and there, den pam n kel went home, but i went back to sch. and i recalled it's raining so very heavily then and there's a terrible car accident somewhere in front of sim. i like sim's ban mee.

Rush back to sch to have the basic translation lecture, ok it's still not bad at least, but it's scary coz the lecturers like to randomly call out names. and we have to shout out our translated verse to him so the whole lecture can criticise. haiyo. den this lecture got set up a forum for ppl to participate and it's counted in our CA, but i din post anything yet. i duno what i can post. maybe say "i agree, or not agree" to each and every post. LOL. is that participating?

After the lecture, got another chi lexi lecture. ok this lecture the class size is pathetically small (no more than 30), and sure u bet all the ppl in this class are cl majors coz it's lv 3 module. so far what the lecturer covered is what has been taught in the lv1 introductory cl module.. hmmm.. like that one oh.. den the exam is oso open book. i wonder how scary will the exam be. by the time i reached home, it's alr 6pm and i recalled doing nth but drop dead on bed.

On wed, got geo tut at 12, so meet kel and we went to the earth lab for the first time. nice comfy lil place, and i bet most of the ppl there are year ones, coz it's introductory module. i like the prof, prof chang.. he's a very humorous person, always having a sweater wrapped around his neck though he nv wear it. his sense of humor is strong n i nv fall asleep in his class. but he is teaching us human geo.. currently touching on issues of geographical imaginations and globalisation.. i wonder how nice it'd be to have such a tutor for GP. sure everyone can score well, coz he jus have the ability to bring out all these dry stuff so interestingly.

After the class, went to jap TB tutorial. our teacher this time is 浅原先生. wa.. she is a very strict and stern teacher, who can rap jap, and though our performance is not bad alr, she demands us more, to speak like local japanese and her english is very pro. heard from HJ she was an eng lit or jap lit major. no wonder.. den she came in to class, ask us randomly to ask her a question each. dat kel go and ask her how old she is.. zzz.. not a gd start.. she a bit fuming.. answered, i was once 23. den ppl ask her where she live, she said somewhere near orchard. ppl ask her got child or not, she said got a twin. very "impressive". take this word literally for its meaning. so dis class, got Al, Kel, Jas, PH, BH, Abln, and a few familiar faces whom i duno their name.

On thur, went to the chi lit lecture at 12 again and i like this lecturer coz he knew what we wun know so he taught us from there. a lot of 文言文, but he taught us well enough that everyone said this module is interesting. so what we're learning? brief introduction of 诗经、论语、战国策、庄子& etc, currently on 楚辞。readings are a lot, but understandable and useful.

After the lect, met up wif hj and kel to have lunch at mac's and studied a bit. then they went for their TC class and i went home. My jap TC tut is on friday morn, not thur evening. For kel n hj's TC, they got 堀江先生, and they think she's fun and great.

On fri, for the TC tut, meet up with Al and our class is very squeezy and small. got a few ppl i know too, got Al, Rb, Rk, Adm, Sdy, and familiar faces. Sdy surprisingly very quiet. i duno why. but our teacher, is 浜崎先生.. so we hit all 4 different teachers.. but al complained he wanted 堀江先生 so much, but din get her. HJ wanted 岡田先生, but she oso din get it. so this is life. the more you wan it, the more u wun get it.

After the tut, went to geo lecture, so meet up with El and HY. den it's another fun lecture, and after the lecture, went to have lunch with El at the deck, and start our project discussion. HY got tut, so she came to join us later. and our discussion was fruitful. now we knew wat we can do now. that's great. we aim to finish the proj before midterm break. 加油加油！

As for the basic translation, we gotta form a project group too, got MT(call her Rain), Vr & Jsl(2 year ones), and one secretive guy called Ang. no one initiate the task, so i contacted them, set up a community and we said we upload our translated text there before we discuss on sunday. still, no one replied. lol. maybe not till the very last min, no one will be worried. ah.. whatever the case, i shall jus be passive and do what i feel like doing in the group wk. it's not like i nv tried. and it's not like everyone wun be getting that same piece of group result. so.. jus set course and let the river flow.. i dun care abt the steering yet.
